TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa teen who was shot after he got off a Tulsa Public School bus Friday has died, according to a St. John Hospital spokesperson. He has been identified as Memorial High School student Jacob Barnes.

The 16-year-old student was shot in the head, back and neck as he got off the bus in the area of 33rd and North Lansing at about 4:45 p.m. He was shot in front of other children as he walked from the bus stop.

The teen told his friends, "You be careful," before he fell victim to the drive-by shooting. His sister was present at the scene, walking some distance away from him.

Police say he spoke briefly to some men in a gold-colored Chevy Suburban or Tahoe then one of the men shot him from the passenger side of the vehicle. Tulsa police are reporting that the shooter was riding in the middle of the car's back seat.

Police are searching for a group of four to five males riding riding in a gold, Chevy Suburban or Tahoe. The driver was described as having short, dreadlocked hair. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, according to Tulsa Police Captain Karen Tipler.

Tulsa Public Schools issued a press release Friday night about the city's latest homicide.
