Eight-Year-Old Bixby Boy Killed In Car Accident

Zachary A. Wertz  of Bixby died when he was partially ejected from the vehicle in which he was a passenger. The accident happened Labor Day afternoon.

MCINTOSH COUNTY, OK -- An eight-year-old Bixby boy was killed Sunday afternoon in a single-car accident on the Indian Nation Turnpike in McIntosh County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Zachary A. Wertz died of massive head injury when he was partially ejected from the vehicle in which he was a passenger.

Christina Wertz, 37, was northbound at about 3 p.m. when her 2006 Chrysler UT left the road and rolled approximately four times, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A second passenger, Hana Grace Wertz, 10, of Bixby, was treated and released from a Henryetta hospital, as was the driver.
