OKMULGEE, OK -- Okmulgee Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an auto-pedestrian accident community on the evening of August 20th.
Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice says the victim, 9-year-old Piper Haney, was found lying on the shoulder of a road near 20th and Okmulgee Street.
The girl was first taken to an Okmulgee hospital and then was flown by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital where she is reportedly fighting for her life.
A witness told police the girl was struck by a pickup truck, but couldn't give a make or color.
Police have determined the pickup may have been a Nissan, possibly a 1988 to 1996 model.
Prentice says there is a walking trail nearby and he is hoping someone may have seen the pickup truck as it traveled down 20th Street.
He is asking anyone with any information, however insignificant, to call the Okmulgee Police Department at 918-756-3511.
