Beggs Man Dies In Single Car Collision

Twenty-three-year-old Cody Jacob Martin died Friday when his car left southbound U.S. Highway 75 and smashed head on into a tree.

OKMULGEE COUNTY -- Twenty-three-year-old Cody Jacob Martin died Friday evening in a single-car accident on U.S. Highway 75 near 261st South in Okmulgee County.

Martin was driving southbound at 6:24 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The car travelled almost 500 feet in a roadside ditch before striking a tree head on.

Martin was pulled from the car by another motorist before the car burst into flames; however, troopers say he died at the scene of massive injuries.
