MUSKOGEE---If you're driving through Muskogee this week don't be suprised if at some hot intersection a member of Timothy Baptist Church hands you a cold bottle of water. They're just practicing random acts of kindness August 3rd-8th for 'Timothy Treats', a week when the church members thank the Muskogee community for 50+ years.
'We have between 300-350 people involved in this,' said Pastor Kelly Payne, 'they're just working their tails off, happy to do it, excited.'
Pastor Kelly started asking members to take the week off this past January so they could help during the week of giving-back.
'It's a feeling that you get just doing what you know you're supposed to do for God,' said church member Penny Mackey.
Besides handing out water, the church provided a free sack lunch at a local park, help paint homes and do repair work, visited local nursing homes and went door-to-door to pray for people.
Tickets handed-out during the week will be held for a drawing Friday night for a free months rent, up to $500.00.
