TULSA, OK -- Berryhill firefighters were busy Friday morning looking for parents of a 3-year-old girl who turned up at their fire station half-dressed.
Berryhill Assistant Fire Chief Donny McMasters told The News On 6 a concerned couple dropped off the girl, after finding her walking down 65th West Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. Friday.
McMasters said firefighters immediately called the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
McMasters said they learned the girl's mother had dropped her off at a babysitter's house in Berryhill.
He said the babysitter wasn't awake, so the child started walking down the street crying.
McMasters said she was then picked up by a couple who took her to the nearby fire station.
The sheriff's office said the child's mother and babysitter were located and reunited with the 3-year-old.
Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies said the mother told them she had taken the child inside the babysitter's home and tucked her into a bed, not knowing the babysitter was asleep.
