UNDATED -- All the construction updates and detour details have some drivers seeing orange.  News On 6 viewer Brian from Sand Springs asks:  "Where can I get the latest highway and lane closures for Tulsa?"

There's a reason why people joke the orange barrel should be the state symbol.  Federal dollars are fueling the latest flurry of construction activities.  But, what could stimulate the local economy promises to stall your commute.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation tracks its projects' progress online.  Just click on Traffic Advisories in the left hand column of the home page.  You can check out Tulsa or Oklahoma City.  And, it even has a special page for the IDL.

ODOT also has traffic webcams that update every couple of minutes that will show you whether traffic is moving or if it's at a standstill.

If you're traveling turnpikes, there is another website, try Pikepass.com.

You can click on construction projects on the top right and then 2009 construction projects and it takes you to a list of all of the turnpikes and their work zones.

When navigating the streets of Tulsa, the city offers a website that provides live reports of traffic accidents.

The bottom line is do your homework, plan your routes, and pack your patience because when the barrels are out, delays are inevitable.
