Infant Found Dead At Private Daycare

A four-month-old infant was found dead at a private daycare provider in Tulsa this morning. There were no signs of injuries to the baby boy, police report.

TULSA, OK -- A four-month-old baby boy died Thursday morning at a daycare operated at a private home in Tulsa, according to a report from the Tulsa Police Department.

EMSA paramedics had pronounced the child dead when the officers arrived at 11:37 a.m.

According to reports, the child's mother left him at the daycare at 7:30 a.m. Detectives from the Child Crisis Unit said they are not aware that the child had any medical problems, but they are continuing to investigate the case.

The daycare provider told police that she checked on the baby at 10 a.m. where he was in a crib in a back bedroom of the house. She said the child appeared to be sleeping normally at that time.

When she checked on the child again at 11 a.m., he was not breathing, she told police.

Police say there were no visible injuries to the child's body, which was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office. There were 11 other children at the private daycare at the time of the child's death.
