TULSA, OK -- Two Tulsa teenagers were taken into police custody after breaking into an elementary school Thursday.
Officers with the Tulsa Police Department received a call from Tulsa Public Schools security at about 3 a.m. in reference to a break in at McKinley Elementary School located at 6703 East King Street.
Officers arrived to discover the teens, ages 15 and 16, had lifted out a window to the school and went inside the gym. Officers said the teens were planning on taking a radio.
Before arriving to the school, the teens, who said they were runaways from the Tulsa Boys Home, had broken into a nearby trailer and stole soda and water, according to police.
The two teens were taken into custody.
