BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Windstream employees were out on the streets of Broken Arrow "paying it forward" by picking up trash.
In the last few weeks they have been committing random acts of kindness such as filling people's gas tanks, washing their cars and giving out flowers to nursing home patients.
"It's all part of our 'Windstream Celebrates 49, 49.99 keep it forever and ever, your internet and phone,'" said Stephan Pietsch, slipping into a bit of a sales pitch. "So we're out here doing good deeds, as well as all last week we did good deeds in Broken Arrow."
The refreshing marketing ploy had the Windstream employees working up a sweat in the record temperatures, while both spreading the word of their pricing bundle and helping the community.
"It's super hot out here, yes, but we're helping beautify the city," said Tina Breedlove. "Random acts of kindness, just doing nice things for the community, for the people of Broken Arrow without asking for anything in return."
And their corporate graciousness will continue, next Wednesday, July 1st, they will be helping folks fill their tanks for 49 cents per gallon at the retail store located next to their B.A. storefront at 2449 West Kenosha between 11 am and 1 pm.
Paying it forward and making loyal customers at the same time? What's the matter with that?
