Mid-America Ford Team Shelby Nationals Come To Oklahoma

JENNINGS, OK -- If you are a fan of American muscle cars, especially Shelbys, you need to attend the Mid-America Ford Team Shelby Nationals held June 23rd through the 28th.

According to Randy Roberts, Mid-America Ford Team Shelby, "This is the biggest of this sort in the country.  We road race them, we do drag racing, we do car shows and we do cruise-ins at night.  We're a multi-faceted event that likes to use them and abuse them."

There will be vintage and late-model displays featuring SVT Cobras, Shelby Cobras, Fairlanes, Galaxies, Cougars and of course Mustangs.  The latest offerings of Shelby Automobiles will also be unveiled during the event.

Gary Davis is Vice-President of Research and Development for Shelby Auto and has a deep respect for the talent of the legendary designer, Carroll Shelby.

"You think you're going to get ahead of him?  Forget it, because he's thinking way ahead of us,"  said Davis.  "Carroll has always been a horsepower man, he'll always be a horsepower man, once we build a car he's already thinking of the next three or four cars we need to build for him.  But it's always horsepower and performance."
