TULSA, OK -- The sweltering summer temperatures make fighting fires even more dangerous. Crews had to pay just as much attention to staying hydrated, as they did the flames when battling a house fire in the 1600 block of East Oklahoma Street.
It takes twice as many teams to fight a fire during this extreme heat.
"Once our guys were able to put the fire out, we brought in another crew to hydrate those guys, to do spot checking of the fire," said Tim Smallwood with the Tulsa Fire Department.
