MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The former sheriff and undersheriff of McIntosh County have been scheduled for a plea hearing on Thursday on a charge accusing them of conspiring to steal money from motorists during traffic stops.
Magistrate Judge Kimberly West scheduled former Sheriff Terry Jones and former Undersheriff Mykol Brookshire for separate hearings at the federal courthouse in Muskogee.
Jones and Brookshire resigned after being arrested last month. They each face one count of conspiracy.
According to court documents, Jones and Brookshire were arrested after they stopped an undercover agent last month and embezzled a bundle of cash found in the car.
