TULSA, OK -- A woman is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital after police say she was involved in a fight Sunday in the 500 block of South 54th West Avenue.
The News On 6 was originally told the woman died at the scene.
However, Sergeant Mike McMeen tells the News On 6 that the victim, Jessica Graph, 28, was transported to the hospital in "very critical condition, not expected to live."
Officers were called to the scene shortly after midnight in response to a fight. When they arrived, they found Graph lying in the street.
Witnesses told detectives that Graph had been involved in a physical fight with another woman.
Witnesses say Graph was on her hands and knees when 21-year-old Bryan Thurman, the brother of the other woman, kicked Graph and ran away.
According to police records, Thurman admitted to kicking the victim one time, claiming it was in self defense. However, witnesses told detectives the victim was on her hands and knees and was not attacking Thurman in any way.
Graph is listed in critical condition.
Thurman was arrested on a complaint of assault and battery with intent to kill.
