Creek Nation Buys South Tulsa Land

TULSA, OK -- The Creek Nation has bought land at the heart of a bridge controversy in south Tulsa.

There have been talks about building a toll bridge near 121st Street and the Arkansas River for years, but the state Supreme Court ruled Jenks couldn't build the bridge without Tulsa's consent.

Years from now, the land could be put into federal trust, meaning it wouldn't be subject to state or local laws.

The Creek Nation is divided on what to do with the property.
