Motorcyclist Dies In Tulsa Traffic Accident

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa police have identified a man who died after crashing his motorcycle early Wednesday morning in west Tulsa.  

Police identify the rider as 42-year-old David Eugene Carter. 

The accident happened shortly after 5 a.m. in the 700 block of West Skelly Drive near Lawton Avenue in Tulsa.

Police say the motorcycle was eastbound on West Skelly Drive when it hit a curb.  They say Carter was ejected from the bike and hit a light pole. 

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.   

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Skelly Drive was blocked off while police officers investigated the accident.
