TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa church is going green. The 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church of Tulsa has opened its unused land to the community for gardening.
The church has more than 20 plots for people to grow fresh fruits and vegetables. Part of the produce will be donated to a local shelter.
The church says its urban farm near 920 S. New Haven is a win/win for everyone.
"People are able to grow food for their families and then, of course, the homeless have some fresh produce incorporated in their meals," said Amy Lee with the church.
The church says the community's response has been tremendous, and they expect more urban gardens to sprout up in the future.
