OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Some Oklahoma educators went to the Capitol on Tuesday urge Governor Brad Henry to veto a controversial education bill.
Senate Bill 8-34 is waiting for the governor's review. The bill would deregulate schools and lift most state mandates on education. Supporters say it's about giving schools local control.
But, those opposing the measure, say it would hurt teachers when it comes to class sizes and bargaining.
Governor Henry has said he's withholding judgment on the bill until he's had a chance to study it.
