OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma National Guard soldier has committed suicide after being deployed in Iraq.

Ada Police Chief Mike Miller said Friday that Matthew Earl Eppler, 26, of Ada, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday. A police report indicates that his wife found his body in
the bedroom of their home in Ada.

He was currently serving with the Army National Guard and had served one year in Iraq. He had attended Francis and Byng schools.
