Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry has issued a stay of execution for a man convicted in the beating death of an 8-year old boy.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry has issued a stay of execution for a man convicted in the beating death of an 8-year old boy.

Donald Gilson was scheduled to die on May 5th for the death of Shane Coffman.

Henry says he's postponing the execution while he considers a recommendation to reduce the sentence to life in prison.

Henry has rescheduled the execution for May 14th.
