TULSA, OK -- An investigation is underway after Tulsa Police arrest a man who later died at a Tulsa hospital.
Police officers say they noticed 38-year-old Jerard M. Drew near the 2700 block of West Edison around 10 p.m. Wednesday, because he was not wearing a shirt and had his shorts down around his knees.
Police say when officers tried to talk with Drew, he ran off into a drainage ditch.
They say when they caught up to him, Drew began acting aggressively.
Officers took Drew into custody and they say a short time later he simply stopped breathing.
"The officers on the scene started doing CPR, they revived the individual and EMSA arrived, Tulsa fire arrived, EMSA transported the subject to the hospital and he later died," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Robert Heidlage.
Tulsa Police officer Leland Ashley says the 6 police officers involved this incident have been placed on restrictive duty.
Tulsa Police are investigating what led to Drew's death.
