OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state has filed a civil lawsuit against a Texas telemarketing company over allegations it violated Oklahoma's Do Not Call law.

Attorney General Drew Edmondson said Tuesday that Golden Seniors Advisors of San Marcos called at least 28 Oklahomans who were registered with Oklahoma's Telemarketer Restriction Act Consumer Registry.

The state is also accusing the company of making the calls with an automatic dial device, which is also banned in Oklahoma.

Calls to the San Marcos-based company for comment were not immediately returned.

Fines of up to $10,000 per violation are allowed under state law.
