TULSA, OK -- A Sand Springs Lake Country Christian School first grader is one of 36 finalists for the Heinz Ketchup Creativity Contest. It all comes down to an online vote, which ends March 25th.
Out of thousands of drawings nationwide, the work of 7-year-old Summer Gray was chosen as one of three finalists for the first grade category.
Summer says she loves the ocean so she decided to make the ketchup bottle underwater with a sea horse and a clown fish.
If she wins, Summer gets a prize of 1-thousand dollars and her school wins 1-thousand dollars for art supplies.
In addition, her school gets one-thousand dollars in ketchup, which will be donated to the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa.
Summer's Art Teacher, Pam DePetris, says she's entered Summer's work in many contests and is so excited her creativity is finally getting recognition.
"She has the ability to add detail and see things that most kids her age aren't able to do yet, " said DePetris.
Summer says she loves Barbies, but if she wins she is going to save her money for when she's older.
