Head-On Accident On Tulsa Highway Kills One

TULSA, OK -- A head-on collision Tuesday on a Tulsa highway killed a 40-year-old Tulsa man and blocked a highway for several hours.

Tulsa police say the accident happened at 1:46 a.m. on U.S. Highway 75 near 71st Street South.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck, Robert McDonald, entered the highway going southbound in the northbound lanes. A witness told officers, as the pickup truck was attempting to make a U-turn, it was struck head-on by a semi tractor trailer. 

Police say McDonald was pronounced at the scene.

The accident shut down the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 for several hours while crews cleaned up the accident.
