TULSA, OK -- A former acting police chief in Fairland has been indicted on charges of passing four counterfeit $100 bills.

William Ray Moore is accused of passing the fake bills at a Wal-Mart in Vinita.

A Vinita police report says Moore is seen on a surveillance video using the counterfeit money to renew a prepaid credit card.

The report says the person in the video had a holstered pistol and was wearing a polo-style police shirt with an embroidered badge with the name of Fairland.

Federal prosecutors say Moore took the phony money from an evidence locker.

Moore was hired last August and was fired Nov. 21 after coming under investigation.
