TULSA, OK -- A history-making Tulsan has received a special honor. The Tulsa City Council Library was dedicated as the Dorothy Moses-Dewitty Library on Thursday afternoon.
Ms. Dewitty was the first black woman elected to the Tulsa City Council. She was also the first black female school principal in the city.
Dewitty recently received the council's Lifetime Public Service Award for her dedication and service. The Dorothy Dewitty Library is located on the fourth floor of Tulsa's City Hall at One Technology Center.
