OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The number of people killed in traffic accidents on Oklahoma roads and highways continues to trail last year's pace.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports there have been 52 traffic-related fatalities so far in 2009. That compares to 70 traffic deaths during the same time last year.
February also is proving to be less deadly for motorists in Oklahoma, with 14 deaths so far this month. That compares to 27 deaths during the first two weeks of February 2008.
