TULSA, OK -- There's a movie out called "Hotel for Dogs" about some kids who turn an abandoned hotel into a very clever dog shelter.
A local hotel in Tulsa not only tolerates guests with dogs, but actually encourages guests to bring them.
The Ambassador in downtown Tulsa accommodates guests with dogs. In the lobby there is a dog bed by the fire. The hotel has dog beds, food and water dishes and bottled water. Michael Frimel and Liz Haller say that is standard.
"We started with the pet beds probably 6 or 7 years ago. A couple of years ago we added the enhancements, the treats," said Michael Frimel, Ambassador.
They also provide a little gift packet with three poop bags, a dog treat and info on good walking places.
"People love these," said Frimel.
Guests can also order special gourmet dog treats.
Michael says at the Ambassador, all dogs are welcome. There is no extra pet deposit charged by the Ambassador.
When the guest with the dog checks out, the carpet gets shampooed and the room gets an extra thorough cleaning.
