Man Killed When Pinned Under Truck

VINITA, Okla. (AP) -- A Vinita man has died after he slipped beneath his pickup truck and was run over.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Christopher Ahrens died in the accident just outside the Vinita city limits.

Investigators say Ahrens' pickup apparently rolled backward down an embankment and after he was unable to drive back up the bank he got out of the truck and fell underneath it.

The truck then rolled back and pinned him under a front tire.

The accident was discovered shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
