TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man may have lost his life because of an unpaid debt and detectives want to find the killers.

The murder happened at the Sawmill apartments at 12938 East 35th Place on October 4th around 11:30 p.m.

Someone heard shots and called police. They found Billy Alexander dead inside apartment 1516.

"Witnesses indicate five to seven black males ran from Mr. Alexander's apartment. Police believe he owed people money and that led to him being shot," said TPD Officer Leland Ashley.

The suspects jumped into a white, four door vehicle and left the scene.

With so many people who know what happened, officers hope someone is ready to give it up.

"Maybe, someone has talked about this and it's on their conscience or heart and they'll let us know who did this," said Officer Ashley.

Alexander's family is desperate for answers about who took their loved one's life.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS or text "tip 918" and the information to CRIMES. Everything is anonymous and you could earn a cash reward.
