UNDATED -- A seat in the Oklahoma Senate will go to Republican Dan Newberry. The Republican defeated incumbent Senator Nancy Riley.
Riley, a Democrat, was challenged for the seat by Newberry. Riley has served two terms in the Oklahoma Senate, but switched from a Republican to a Democrat two years ago. She says she was dissatisfied with the GOP's continual effort to kill her bills. She called the Republican caucus hateful and vindictive.
Newberry owns Homeland Federal Mortgage. This election was his first attempt at seeking public office.
