UNDATED -- There will be a new face on the Tulsa County Commission. Democrat Karen Keith defeated Republican Sally Bell to win the seat previously held by Republican Randi Miller.
"I'm just ecstatic. I'm so grateful. This has been longest job interview of my life, but I'm so anxious to go to work and I want to congratulate Sally such a courageous campaign with grace and dignity, and I really respect her effort and sticking her neck out," said Karen Keith.
Sally Bell defeated Randi Miller in the primary election. Bell received 7,950 votes (81.4%) to Miller's 1811 votes (18.6%). Bell's family owned and operated Bell's Amusement Park at Tulsa's Expo Square for decades until the park's lease was not renewed.
Bell says no matter what happens tonight, she is glad she ran for office.
"I'm hopeful. We were outspent by quite a bit and that makes a difference. But, we'll see at the end of the night," said Sally Bell.
Democrat Karen Keith was a long-time Tulsa news anchor. She also served as an aide to Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune.
