SKIATOOK, OK -- Give and take. The Skiatook o-line gives the running lane. Running back Seth Stanton takes it.
"He gives us credit verbally and he gets the credit on paper," said offensive lineman John Sizemore. "We don't care about the credit on paper though."
"Give credit to the big guys up front," said Stanton. "They do all the work for me. I just find the hole and go to it."
Stanton is only one of 17 players in the state to rush for over 1,000 yards this season. It's a big change from last year and the difference: the big boys up front.
"Our lineman, I don't know, they just didn't have it in them last year," said Stanton. "This year they have a lot more confidence in each other."
So does the rest of the team. Skiatook's looking for its first playoff appearance in four years.
"I think our teammates really want to be there this year," said Stanton. "The seniors this year have been working hard and us underclassmen want to give it to them too."
"This is at the point of the year where it starts to get fun," said Skiatook coach Vance Miller. "You start to see who matches up with who and stuff like that. The weather starts to cool off and you can tell it's getting close to the playoffs which is exciting."
