BARTLESVILLE, OK -- Preliminary findings show a fire that destroyed a Bartlesville shopping center, likely was caused by a furnace inside one of the businesses.
That fire destroyed most of the Washington Square shopping center just off Highway 75. It displaced about a dozen businesses.
The city says insurance adjustors will make the final determination of a cause. But a business tenant says it started when they lit the furnace for the first time this fall.
