TULSA, Ok -- A Tulsa woman was nearly sexually assaulted by a total stranger. The victim was able to help police create a composite sketch, which they hope will lead to his arrest.
The woman was sitting on her front porch, which is screened in on Saturday, September 27th around 2:00 in the morning. She lives in the 2600 block of East 1st Street.
A man, who was walking in the neighborhood, forced his way onto her porch.
"This individual comes, yanks the screen door open and goes inside the porch area and attempts to sexually assault her. She's able to fight him off. She grabs a bat and strikes the individual several times," said TPD Officer Leland Ashley.
The suspect is described as 25 to 30-years-old and either has a missing or broken tooth on the left side of his mouth.
Certainly, a woman should to be able to sit on her own porch and feel safe and police say, generally, that's true.
"We don't really see a lot of these, where a stranger tries to sexually assault someone and he was walking, so we feel he lives in the neighborhood or someone close," said Officer Ashley.
Sex crimes detectives hope someone recognizes the suspect so he can be caught, because they feel this is the type of attack he will try again.
Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS or you can text in your tip. Send it to "CRIMES", which is 274637.
Start with the phrase "tip 918", so they know it's for Tulsa.
