TULSA, OK -- Saturday was a little windy, but perfect weather to go fly a kite and that's exactly what dozens of Green Country kids did, it was all part of the second annual Kite Fest.
The celebration is hosted by the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium.
Kids of all ages got to learn how to make their own kite and then fly it. But the event was more than just fun, it was educational too.
"Oh, any time a child can make something on their own and they get immediate gratification for something that especially works very well like these kites do, it just helps build their self esteem and confidence in themselves to be able to build things," said Loretta Jones of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
Jones says with all the success the event has had, they are hoping to bring it back next year too.
