MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Norbert continues to move westward in the Pacific while farther out in the ocean, Tropical Storm Marie has become stationary.
Norbert has maximum sustained winds near 65 mph. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Norbert is expected to strengthen and could become a hurricane later Monday.
Norbert is centered about 340 miles south of Manzanillo, Mexico, and moving west near 7 mph.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Marie is expected to weaken to a depression later in the day Monday. The storm's maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph.
Marie is centered about 900 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, posing no threat to land.
