WAGONER, OK -- A Wagoner County jury recommended life without parole for a convicted killer. Oscar Patterson was convicted earlier this month of murdering his 15-year-old step-daughter in 1997.
After two weeks of testimony and hours of deliberation, Oscar Patterson's fate is sealed. A Wagoner County jury has recommended he serve life without parole for the 1997 murder of his step-daughter, Tiffany Beverly.
Patterson was first tried and convicted in Tulsa County, but the case was overturned on appeal.
Now 11 years later, a Wagoner County jury came to the same conclusion.
Assistant District Attorney John David Luton says justice is served for the victim and her relative who also claims Patterson abused her.
"It's hard for people to have any conceptual idea of what's she's had to live through. Not to mention the fact that her mother till this day does not believe that Tiffany was killed by her still current husband, Oscar Patterson and doesn't believe (Tiffany's relative) was molested," said ADA John David Luton.
Tiffany's relative took the stand during trial. It was the seventh time she's had to do so in the 11 years since her sister's death.
Patterson is already serving a 100 year term for sexually abusing another teenage family member.
