TULSA, OK -- Protestors make a stop at Friday night's Jenks and Union game.

The group protested on Friday outside the U.S. Courthouse in downtown Tulsa.  They're asking for the release of Leonard Pelteir, a man imprisoned over 30 years ago after a deadly shootout with FBI agents.  They say he was protecting his community.

The group is protesting for Pelteir and against the Union mascot.

"If they said the blackskins, the yellowskins, the whiteskins, it's that kind of disrespect and teaching of children that causes there to be conflicts in the world," said protestor David Hill.

There's currently no rule against a high school using an Indian name or reference as its mascot.
