Friday is a "Day of Caring" in Tulsa.
More than 4,000 United Way volunteers fanned out Friday morning to help people and agencies who needed it.
The day began with a rally at the BOK Center. The rally got the volunteers pumped before they headed out to work on more than 400 projects.
The Day of Caring begins a month of work and fund raising for the United Way. Area businesses that have already raised money for the campaign will announce their earnings. By November 11 the organization hopes to collect just under $24 million for the community.
Tulsa United Way President and CEO Mark Graham says the best thing about the United Way is that there is something for every type of volunteer.
"They will be helping with 450 projects, projects of all shapes and sizes. We're going to be working with kids, taking seniors fishing to construction projects," said Mark Graham.
This is the 17th year for the "United Way Day of Caring.
