In the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav and its flooding rains, the Arkansas Department of Emergency Managements advises that state residents should continue to be careful around high water. According to ADEM:

6 inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing a loss of control.

A foot of water will float many cars.

2 feet of flowing water can move trucks, SUVs and most other vehicles.

Water across a roadway can hide a missing segment of road or hide a missing bridge.
