MIAMI (AP) - The National Hurricane Center says a new tropical depression has formed in the Atlantic.
The depression formed early Thursday and has maximum sustained winds near 35 mph.
The depression is centered about 355 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph.
The new tropical depression comes as Tropical Storm Gustav is churning through the Caribbean and threatening to hit the New Orleans area as a hurricane.
