The countdown is on for the official grand opening of the BOK Center on August 30. The ribbon cutting ceremony and community open house are this Saturday.

Everyone, including the media has been shut out for weeks now while crews finish up the building.

Officials say they're expecting about 10,000 people to attend the grand opening on Saturday.

NewsOn6.com will provide live streaming coverage of the opening ceremony on Saturday.

About 80 workers continue to wrap up the last little items before Saturday's open house. Officials say those workers are placing and applying the section numbers and scrubbing the silver shell and glass doors.

Bob Eggleston with Tulsa Vision Builders has been working hard on the BOK Center since the beginning, and says the real reward comes on Saturday.

"I can't wait to see this place full of people, I can't wait to see a concert here, I can't wait to hear the place rocking because at the moment it's just an empty shell," said Bob Eggleston.

Architect Cesar Pelli will be in Tulsa for the ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday morning. Also attending will be the Mayor Kathy Taylor and country music legend and Oklahoma native Garth Brooks.

The open house ceremonies began at 10 a.m. After that, everyone is invited inside to check out the BOK Center for themselves.

Those attending the event can park for free at the 100 West Garage, located on Cheyenne between 1st and 2nd Streets.

Inside the BOK Center, the arena floor is going to be divided up into three sections, a stage, football turf, and hockey goal. Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, along with other local musical guests will also be performing for those touring the BOK Center.
