Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will both speak to the general session of the Republican National Convention. This year's convention will be held at the Xcel Center in St. Paul, Minnesota from September 1 through September 4.
Delegates from all 50 states and six districts or territories, totaling over 2,000, will attend to nominate U.S. Senator John McCain as the Republican nominee for President of the United States.
Cornett and Corburn are the first Oklahomans elected officials to address the Republican National Convention since 1996 when then, Congressman J.C. Watts Jr. spoke.
