From Glenpool comes another inspirational story. The News On 6's Rick Wells reports the story is about a busy woman, so busy with her memberships in different groups, her cello, Bible study and teaching and tutoring, she was only able to squeeze in an interview with Rick during her normal workout at the gym.
Going where no man has gone before to meet Esther Gene Morrison, The News On 6's Rick Wells headed into Curves at Glenpool.
She said she joined the gym a year ago and works out three or four times a week. She says she joined to get more active, but it's hard to get her to slow down.
"I play the cello in the orchestra at the 11 o'clock service at Asbury Methodist," said Esther Gene Morrison.
And, she teaches Sunday school and Bible study. She tutors Spanish. And, she goes on mission trips every year as translator.
"My last trip was last April when I celebrated my 85th birthday," said Esther Gene Morrison.
Lorna Lydem who owns the Glenpool Curves says Esther Gene is an inspiration.
"She inspires the ladies who are half her age to work faster," said Lorna Lydem.
She's a little feisty, too.
