Bikers from across the nation are riding through Oklahoma on Monday to raise awareness and money for the American Legion's legacy scholarship fund.

The American Legion riders left Indianapolis Sunday and are expected to roll into Phoenix Thursday, just before their national convention kicks off there.

The group stopped in Tulsa Monday and talked about why they ride.

"This ride started as a way to raise funds so that we made sure that our fallen comrades' children got to go to college," said Cmdr Martin Conatser, The American Legion.

Last year, American Legion Riders raised $400,000. This year's goal is $350,000.
