Overnight Traffic Mishaps

A woman is hospitalized after flipping her car on Interstate 44 overnight.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday as the driver headed westbound near Elwood.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the woman lost control and rode along a wall for about 75 feet. She flipped her SUV end over end and it stopped on its wheels.

OHP troopers say the woman is going to be okay. They say alcohol may have played a role in the accident.

Another overnight accident sent another woman to a Tulsa hospital.

The accident occurred in the 300 block of Gilcrease Museum Road when a northbound driver ran off the road and hit a guardrail.

Tulsa Police say the driver was recently released from the hospital and may have been under the influence of medication.

The driver's male passenger was not hurt.
