There is new information in the murder investigation of two missing boys who were found dead on Thursday. The case began July 30th when a man was shot in the face. He told police, his friend, Daniel Davis shot him while they were in a car and he had to jump from the moving car to escape.

Police say Davis turned himself in the next day and admitted to the shooting. Davis was arrested, charged, and then released on bond.

Two days later, the victim went back to police and told them Davis had also shot two young men in the same car, the same day.

He said those young men were Derek Russell and Martin Marion, who had been reported missing by their mothers. Detectives interviewed Davis again and say he admitted shooting them and dumping their bodies in a field.

"We do know that everybody knew everybody or had some association, so it's not like somebody grabbed these kids off the street and did this to them.   It doesn't make it any less tragic," said TPD Sgt. Mike Huff.

Police believe drugs may have played a role in Davis' actions. He's booked on two counts of first degree murder.
