Alcohol Suspected In Drag Racing Accident

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say two vehicles were drag racing on Interstate-44 eastbound from the Yale exit, shortly after 10:00 Friday night. Troopers say one vehicle lost control, hit the concrete median, and came to rest across the highway.

Troopers had to shut down the highway at 41st Street.

Four people were inside one vehicle. Troopers say two of them ran away. One person was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

Two people were transported to the hospital. One was in critical condition.

Troopers say alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
