Oklahoma City and Tulsa posted modest gains in population in the past year.
Statewide, the state's population jumped nearly 5 % between April 2000 and July 2007.
Figures show there are now 3,617,000 people who live in Oklahoma.
Norman posted the biggest jump with a more than 10 % increase in population.
The U.S. Census Bureau says the fastest-growing big city in the country is New Orleans which jumped nearly 14 % in a year. But New Orleans still remains well below its pre-Katrina population.
